The Villages at Norris Lake Property Owners Blog was created to facilitate communications with and between VNL property owners. In July 2008 the VNL sales office in LaFollette, TN, Campbell County was closed by parent company Land Resource, LLC of Orlando, FL.

VNL property owner Keith Dralle has organized a group of over 125 other VNL property owners. His goal is to help all of us become better informed about the status of the closing and our options as owners in protecting our interests.
For now, Keith and I have have the access to author new blogs and everyone is invited to comment. Currently, registration is not required to comment but that may change if spamming becomes a problem. I will moderate the comments to make sure unwanted posters are not tolerated.
I am new at blogging so please make suggestions on how we can improve.
Thanks,
Pat

Dear Property Owners,
My wife and I have spent the past decade working with clients from across the country make good decisions when it comes to gated communities. We have started a blog that is being very well received. It is unbiased, factual, and if based on a reliable rumor, it is so stated. We are sick about Grey Rock, Norris Lake and other LR Communities and are doing all we can to formulate a central location for people to communicate their stories, experiences and efforts in order to prevent LR from getting away with this (again!). We are doing the same thing with Ginn Resorts. We also report on the good developers and communities. Share with us feelings and information and help us get the word out.

Pat, this is a great idea for all of us owners to correspond with each other and to keep updated with all of the progress (positive affirmation) at our future homesites.
Hello fellow VNL lot owners,
Just signed on to the blog for the first time.
Keith Dralle has corresponded to all on his e-mail list (about 148 lot owners) regarding our most recent steps to engage counsel and gain control of the VNL HOA. I will be speaking to an attorney on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, who is with a very large Knoxville law firm that is well respected. He is aware of our situation, and has worked with Reid Troutman, attorney with the Campbell County Planning Commission. He also has handled HOA work before. As a CPA, I have been a founder on two HOAs, and was a treasurer for more than 20 years on my last HOA. Also, I frequently work with attorneys as part of my regular work, so coordinating this is comfortable for me.
We want to be stragegic in our efforts, but also be careful with our resources. We will work post-haste to get going on engaging legal counsel. I'm hoping we can get something finalized in the next week, but it may be delayed by playing phone tag with the attorney.
Keith will send a communique to those on his e-mail list, as soon as we have finalized the details.
I would encourage you to join his e-mail list, in addition to this blog. It will be critical to our success in removing the VNL HOA from LRC, that we all pull together and support the united effort. We look forward to moving past these "bumps" in the road, and the final success will be sweet indeed.
Dear Property Owners,
As a Real estate Agent from Florida, I have smelt a rat for a long time when it comes to Bob Ward and LR. I have an extensive background when it comes to Commercial Construction as well as Residential construction. I represented about 10 lot purchases in VNL and from the jump asked for a copy of their performance Bonds as well as surety bonds, however, never dreaming that we would be lied to and mislead by the entire group of LR employees. We were told that all projects that were in pre-development stages were on a stand alone accounting practices and that was no co-mingling of funds from other projects. As of late it has been disclosed that this was not the case for the LR business model. Therefore, the greed demonstrated by Bob ward is totally in excusable. While he was jiving and conniving all the land owners thought he was moving ahead as planned. It makes so upset as well as the other land owners that this one man could pad his pockets with our hard earned money a crush our dreams of being able to build our retirement homes, again because of nothing more than his disconcern for the land owners and his satiable appetite for his own greed. Bob is now acting as if the economy has led to this nightmare at VNL, when the truth is he used us for his own piggy bank. I do not know about the others of you, but I would like see a government agency called in to do a full audit of LR financial statements , so we could actually see where our money went to. I hope the rest of you want this to happen too. If he has committed a crime I would like to see him stripped of his assets and sent to prison. I like you am sick of the greed that has come about in these markets and the people that have cheated the public needs to be punished. As far as the supposedly $300,000.00 that is in the homeowners account, I feel that we should demand to get our hands on this money before Bob Ward and his people get their hands on this money and then it will be gone too! I would like to apologize to any of you that this might offend, however, I call it as I see it.........and this is how I see it. Again I don't know about the rest of the Land owners, but I would really like to see the Marina project purchased and put in as well as the clubhouse. With these features I believe that we all could still have an incredible place to call home. If there is anything that I can do to help, please feel free to contact me at amkin@comcast.net Let's unite together and see to it that we get what was originally promised. I look forward to meeting you (my neighbors) in the near future. My friends an I own lots 113,115,139,144,146,147and 149. Peace to all of you and may the strong survive! Thank You for your ears and thoughts on this matter!!!!!!
Sincerely,
John A. King Lot 149
Do your best to have an incredible day! Look forward to hearing from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read with interest that AIM is now managing our HOA accounts. I assume they still have some relatonship with LRC since I understand they did not purchase the accounts but are only managing them. I also read with interest that Ms Jeanette-Manner Jones, had joined AIM. For you that may not know, Ms Jones was the manager/principle of Southern HOA which controlled the HOA funds for LRC previously. I found Ms Jones to be very loyal to LRC and not very responsive to property owners when I had dealings with her regarding our lot in Cumberland Harbour. She may have a different allegiance now but a year ago it was strictly to LRC and their wishes. Thought I would let you know
Interesting posts by the above contributors. They certainly left a lot of fertile ideas to ponder.
Pat, it was a pleasure to meet you and your sister last night (Oct. 5th). I had the good feeling prior to meeting you that you are a "stand-up man" and we look forward to working with you.
I would like to see Ward and his cluster of executive assistants held "feet to the fire" when it comes to resolving the mess they fostered and, hopefully, held accountable for the charades they promoted in all of their property projects.
